African Films to be Screened for a Week in Santiago de Cuba

Three awarded African films will be screened in this city from January 13 to 20, said sources in charge of this special program. The films A screaming man, The price of pardon and Hero deal with conflicts marked by violence and poverty arising from the reality of Africa, while human feelings are all on edge performed by leading actors.

 

A screaming man, directed by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun in 2010, was awarded the Jury Prize at the Cannes Festival in that year, as well as awards for actors Youssouf Djaoro and Emil Abossolo-Mbo in international film competitions of Dubai, Chicago and Philadelphia.

 

The price of pardon and Hero, 2001 and 2004, respectively, the first deals with stories developed in South Sudan and Luanda, the Angolan capital, where the experiences of two men in love with the same woman take place and the latter with the story of a veteran returning home.
