Salvadorian Colmenitas Multiply Joy in Theater Festival

San Salvador.- A festival of joy, solidarity, art and games was the first Festival of Children''s Theater in El Salvador through which 14 Colmenitas delighted thousands of children and adults throughout the country with their performance.

 


The National Theater of Santa Ana was the stage for the closing yesterday of this effort which first takes place in this nation thanks to the dream of the president, Salvador Sanchez Ceren, and his wife Margarita Villalta, to bring the Cuban initiative, where was created for more than two decades ago the children's theater company La Colmenita.

 

The director of Houses of Culture, César Pineda, thanked those who 'made possible these 10 days of joy and positive energy from childhood.'

 

'Thanks to the technical team and Cuban teachers. Thanks to Silvia Elena Regalado (Secretary of Culture of the presidency) for your valuable support for the program.

 

To the mothers and parents. Teachers. Specially to fellow directors of the Houses of Culture benefited from the program who have been devoted themselves to the renewing energy of youth and childhood, 'he said.

 

2016 Festival began last October 20 at the National Theater of San Salvador with the presence of the director of La Colmenita of Cuba, Carlos Alberto Cremata; Ambassador of the island, Iliana Fonseca; and Secretary Regalado.

 

The inauguration was led by the head of state, who recognized the efforts of children, mothers and families in general that made possible not only the creation of 16 Colmenitas, but to reach this Festival and join the construction plans of a new country, with values, solidarity and peace.

 

He assured that opening of the first National Children's Theatre Festival for Peace and Coexistence is a historic event in El Salvador.

 

During the presentations, theaters and premises were small in comparison with the massive presence of the public.
