Museum Guggenheim Bilbao | #Bringpuppytolife

Since 1997, Jeff Koons' colossal floral sculpture Puppy has been welcoming visitors to the Museum Guggenheim Bilbao. One of the most admired and photographed contemporary works of art, this public sculpture is designed to attract and spark optimism and instill confidence and security.

Today, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is launching a crowdfunding initiative #BringPuppyToLife to raise the funds needed to restore the steel "skeleton", the watering system, and the different layers that secure the substrate which feeds the plants.

With an estimated cost of €100,000, the museum has chosen to enlist the collaboration of society to ensure that such a beloved work will remain in sound condition for the next 25 years. To do so, a special microsite Bring Puppy To Life in Basque, Spanish, English, and French invites all Puppy's fans to sponsor the restoration and make a contribution. The crowdfunding campaign will be active until fall and the restoration will take place from September to November 2021.
