For his exhibition at Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque in Madrid (March 17 - April 26 2021), Carlos Garaicoa worked with Factum Arte on the creation of the site-specific installation Broken Line of Horizon: a single bronze tree emerges among a group of stumps arranged in grids.
Garaicoa regularly works on establishing a dialogue with the structures of contemporary cities and their relationship with nature. The platanus occidentalis is a common sight in Madrid streets and a recreation was cast at Esfinge Foundry, before being sand-blasted and finished at Factum Arte's workshop.
The exhibition will tour to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia (Didac) and to London (Goodman Gallery) after concluding in Madrid.
