San Jose.- After 11 days, a celebration of Cuban Culture concludes today in Costa Costa with an exhibit of photographs, sculptures and paintings by renowned artists.
An exhibition last night at the Valanti gallery showed valuable works of art by Tomas Sanchez (photography), Alexy Palenzuela (sculpture), Ania Toledo, Leticia Sanchez, Gabriel Sanchez, Hector Molne, Rene Martin, Roberto Fabelo and Carlos verdial (painting) .
The Cuban singer Ivette Cepeda, the Cuban group Reflexion and Cubarvason, a group composed of Cuban and Costa Rican musicians, also took part in the celebrations.
'The celebration exceeded all expectations. There was a great number of events. Government representatives, prominent people from the culture sector, as well as members of Cuba solidarity groups attended and members of the Cuban community also took part in the different events,' said Danilo Sanchez, the ambassador of Cuba to Costa Rica.
As part of the celebrations, the Cuban film 'Habanastation' was screened and the Cuban professor Jose Arias Carral offered a conference on Cuban culture.
